A continous steady tone for three minutes indicates: 1) The confirmed sighting of a funnel cloud or tornado-like winds (straight winds) that are known to cause major damage or create a threat to the general public; 2) A tornado warning has been issued by the National Weather Services; 3) A tornado funnel cloud has been spotted in the area; 4) A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect with possibilities of winds of 70 mph and/or large diameter hail; 5) The Fire Dept. feels the public is in danger as the result of impending weather conditions.
