The City Council, after much discussion and consideration and after comparing rates with other cities, accepted a 7-year rate extension to the City’s contract with Republic Services that will now expire June 30, 2033. After speaking with Republic Services Account Representative, the City was very fortunate that they extended their contract by locking in these rates as rates are currently at $21.95 per resident in other cities, so the City has been keeping the rates at a minimum. The City has looked in the past at other ways to avoid an increase such as having Republic Services prepare the monthly billing but later found out that that was not feasible as it would cost an additional $5.95-$6.25 per resident, so the City will continue to do the billing and payments.
After much discussion and public input, the Council came to the conclusion that rates would have to be increased to meet the new rates beginning January 1, 2026 .

- July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027 $18.00
- July 1, 2027-June 30, 2028 $19.00
- July 1, 2028-June 30, 2029 $20.00
- July 1, 2029-June 30, 2030 $21.00
- July 1, 2030-June 30, 2031 $22.00
- July 1, 2031-June 30, 2032 $23.00
- July 1, 2032-June 30, 2033 $24.00
NOTE: If you have an extra garbage cart or recycling cart, those rates will also increase by a $1.00 a month to coincide with the above rate increases.
